The Power of Maps

The power of a map: an elderly chinese man, crying over a map of Shanghai, 1932, reliving memories of his sister as a child before the city was bombed.

"They're not just a bunch of lines on pages, they'll give you an idea of how people lived if you look hard enough"

From a video by the LA Review of Books about the amazing John Feathers collection, over a million maps collected by what you might describe (with some understatement) as a "map-lover".
