BU Marketing & Communication

I spent a fews weeks helping the BU Marketing and Communication department prepare the News & Events site for launch. The site is built in Wordpress and is designed to provide an interim replacement for the glacial Collage content management system while something more suitable is procured. I helped troubleshoot the cross-platform issues such as legacy IE and Firefox compatibility.

While with BU's M&C team I also built a number of WP plugins - batch importers for spreadsheets full of events, custom RSS feeds and also a stop-gap for Twitter feeds following the cessation of their RSS support. The university has a lot of digital signage that can only cope with RSS feeds, so I created a custom JSON to RSS API and cache, so that these pieces of display hardware can still provide news tickers.
