Today we went live with the revamped website for MeCCSA - the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association whose website provides a portal to their conferences and journal.
The existing MeCCSA site was built on Joomla and in need of some refreshment; we decided to migrate it to Wordpress - largely because WP's administrative interface is so much easier to use.
Ralph Saunders did a great job on the front-end, producing the HTML and CSS for the new theme. Check out more of his work at his portfolio.
The most time-consuming part of the project was the migration of historical content from Joomla to Wordpress - there are no good tools out there so it was simply a case of rolling a script to iterate through the existing database sniffing out users and their content.
