MakieLab create 'toys from the future': 3D printed dolls which you can custom-design yourself using their online doll builder. You can choose the eyes, nose, and mouth, adjust their their size and shape, pick a hairstyle and colour, and kit them out with handmade clothes.
I've been working on some new page designs for the makie.me website: new landing pages, winter campaigns and other front-end development. The site is built using Django, the first time I've worked with this framework, so that's been a great learning experience.
Better still, the makie dolls have hollow heads - exactly the right size for a LilyPad Arduino. Check out the forum for some interesting maker/makie projects. I'm just holding out for the fat makie - a doll with a belly big enough for a GPS sensor, an SD card reader and some speakers... the reverse geo-cache makie?
